🔥🍗 These Crispy Japanese BBQ Chicken Wings are perfectly seasoned, ultra-crispy, and coated in a sweet and savory glaze. Made in the @BlackstoneProducts E-Series Pizza Oven using the air fryer function, they’re quick, easy, and full of flavor. Perfect for game day, weeknight dinners, or anytime you’re craving wings without the fryer.
Ingredients
For the Wings (per pound of chicken)
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp white pepper (the secret ingredient!)
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp cornstarch
- 1–2 tbsp neutral oil (such as avocado or canola)
For Finishing
- Japanese BBQ sauce (or sauce of your choice)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Ranch or blue cheese dressing (for dipping)
Instructions
- Prep the Wings
- Pat wings dry with a paper towel.
- Place wings in a large mixing bowl and toss with oil.
- Add kosher salt, white pepper, baking powder, and cornstarch per pound of wings. Toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat the Oven
- Set the Blackstone E-Series Pizza Oven to Air Fryer Mode at 400°F for 30 minutes.
- Cook the Wings
- Arrange wings evenly on a pan, leaving space between them.
- Cook for 15 minutes, flip, and cook the remaining time until golden brown, crispy, and fully cooked through.
- Sauce & Serve
- Place cooked wings in a container, add Japanese BBQ sauce, and toss gently to coat.
- Plate the wings, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve with your preferred dipping sauce.
Tips & Variations
- The baking powder + cornstarch combo gives wings an extra crispy texture without frying.
