Cook Time: 12 minutes

Total Time: 22 minutes

Ingredients

• 8 slices white sandwich bread

• ½ cup Nutella (or more, as needed)

• 2 ripe bananas, sliced ¼ inch thick

• 3 large eggs

• ½ cup half and half (or heavy cream/milk)

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 1 tsp ground cinnamon (adjust to taste)

• 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

• Powdered sugar, for topping

• Pure maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

1. Assemble the sandwiches

• Spread Nutella on one side of each slice of bread.

• Lay banana slices evenly over half of the bread slices.

• Top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches. Press gently to seal.

2. Prepare the custard mixture

• In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs until smooth.

• Add half and half, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Whisk until fully combined.

3. Dip the sandwiches

• Submerge each sandwich in the custard mixture, letting the bread soak for a few seconds per side.

• Place on a wire rack to drain off excess liquid before cooking.

4. Cook on the Blackstone Griddle

• Preheat your griddle on low heat. Add a pat of butter to melt.

• Place the soaked sandwiches on the griddle, working in batches if needed.

• Cook slowly over low heat until golden brown on one side, then flip carefully and cook the other side until golden and the custard is cooked through.

5. Finish & serve

• Transfer the French toast to a wire rack to rest for a minute before cutting.

• Slice each sandwich in half diagonally.

• Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.

Notes & Tips

• Using regular sandwich bread works best since it seals easily and doesn’t overwhelm the filling.

• Keep the heat low on your Blackstone to prevent the outside from burning before the inside cooks through.

• Try experimenting with different fillings — strawberries, peanut butter, or even a cream cheese mixture would work beautifully.
